Despina, despite her age, was very open-minded. She once asked me when Mario and I were going to have children. I told her that we weren't going to and that I've never been interested in being a mother (though I love being an auntie). I was waiting for the typical response of 'you'll change your mind' but instead she agreed that motherhood is not for every woman. Her understanding is one of the many reasons why she was very dear to me.
