I don't recall my mother having any particularly favourite music. During her terrible last weekend at home in Armagh (20-22 April 2012) when I was nursing her while she deteriorated rapidly, she kept hearing loud music and in particular 'Phantom of the Opera'. Maybe that was her favourite piece, I don't know.
Yet I do know she liked Zucchero and I will always fondly remember her last visit to Birmingham in Dec 2008 when I took her to see Zucchero live at the Symphony Hall. She loved it. She sang along and got into the spirit of the concert with all the young people in the audience (in the accompanying video filmed at home afterwards she moves her arms the way we did at the concert).
It makes me very happy thinking of that experience I enjoyed with her.
